This elegant Antique French Sevres Style Cobalt Blue Porcelain Oil Lamp is a striking example of late 19th-century French decorative artistry. Richly adorned with hand-painted romantic figural scenes, ornate gilt embellishments, and luxurious bronze mounts, the lamp beautifully captures the opulence and refinement associated with the celebrated Sevres tradition and Napoleon III taste.
The deep cobalt blue porcelain body features a finely executed hand-painted courting scene framed within lavish gilt cartouches, depicting a romantic pastoral moment rendered in delicate pastel tones. The elongated baluster-form stem is decorated with intricate gilt scrollwork that complements the richly ornamented lower reservoir. Above, the lamp is fitted with an attractive embossed light-blue glass font displaying raised hobnail and floral motifs that create exceptional visual texture and sparkle.
The finely cast gilt bronze burner assembly and decorative paw-foot base further enhance the lamp's elegance, providing a luxurious contrast against the vivid cobalt porcelain. The combination of porcelain, glass, and gilt bronze creates a sophisticated decorative statement suitable for display in traditional interiors, antique collections, libraries, salons, or curated European decorative arts settings.
Inspired by the finest Sevres porcelain designs, this exceptional oil lamp embodies timeless French craftsmanship, historical charm, and decorative sophistication.

Condition Report
Excellent antique condition. The cobalt blue porcelain remains vibrant with beautifully preserved hand-painted figural decoration and crisp gilt detailing. The embossed blue glass font is free of visible chips or cracks, and the gilt bronze mounts retain an attractive aged patina consistent with age. No missing components were observed. The burner assembly appears complete; however, the lamp has not been tested for operation and is being sold primarily as a decorative antique. Overall, an exceptionally well-preserved example with outstanding presentation and display appeal.
