We are happy to be able to offer for your consideration this lovely French crucifix cast in silver metal made in the early 1900s. This type of crucifix was used as an altar cross. It could have also been used for private devotion and home alters. It stands on a traditional style weighted base. It is in very good overall condition.

• Base: It stands on an open hexagonal Gothic-style architectural base (resembling a miniature chapel or tabernacle with buttresses and pinnacles) enclosing a chalice symbol representing the Eucharist.
• Corpus & Details: Crafted from a silver-tone white metal, spelter, or plated zinc alloy, featuring a detailed corpus of Jesus on the cross with the skull of Adam at the base.
• Origin: Similar devotional pieces are commonly attributed to 19th- or early-20th-century French ecclesiastical metalwork.
