Rare Antique "Electric Fluid" Bottle – Chemical Works, Kingston, Ontario
This is an original 19th-century clear glass bottle from Chemical Works, a historical chemical manufacturer based in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The product, Electric Fluid, was marketed as a powerful cleaner for removing paint, grease, tar, and stains from delicate fabrics, carpets, clothing, and gloves—“instantly, without injury.”
Embossed label reads: “Electric Fluid… Price, 25 Cents. Prepared by Chemical Works, Kingston, Ont.”
Open pontil base clearly visible — indicative of pre-1860s hand-blown glass
Original paper label mostly intact with attractive age toning
Applied lip and light aqua glass tone with typical bubbles and imperfections
