Up for sale is a remarkably well-preserved 1860s Civil War-era Victorian miniature photograph album. This album features an ornate, deeply embossed purple leather cover accented with gold tooling, a central portrait medallion, and a fully functional brass clasp with an intact white porcelain/milk glass inset button. The pages feature stunning bright gold-gilded edges.
Historical Provenance:
The front presentation page includes a beautiful handwritten ink dedication reading: \"Presented To my Mother By Miss Hannah Hamilton,\" followed by a neatly penned handwritten family index on the adjacent page.

- 1x CIVIL WAR ANCHOR PHOTO: A crisp, full-length Carte-de-Visite (CDV) of a Union Junior Officer (Lieutenant or Captain) in full dress uniform. He is wearing a single-breasted 9-button frock coat, fringed dress epaulets, and has his hand resting on an officer\'s sword. His Kepi (forage cap) rests on the balustrade next to him showing a distinct insignia.
- 1x RARE 19th-CENTURY PET PORTRAIT: A phenomenal, highly collectible antique portrait of a small terrier-type dog posed on a studio prop. Pet photography from this era is exceptionally rare due to the long exposure times required, making this clear, sharp animal portrait a premium highlight for social history collectors.
- Premium Tintypes: Outstanding social and fashion history imagery, including a phenomenal tintype of two men posing in formal suits and tall top hats. Also includes outdoor scenes with women holding parasols, and several incredibly sharp portraits of young children in studio posing chairs.
