Antique Christmas Postcards Lot Early 1900s Embossed Holly Poinsettia - Lot of 24
Charming collection of antique Christmas and holiday postcards dating primarily from the early 20th century. The cards feature beautiful period artwork with traditional Christmas imagery including holly and berries, poinsettias, mistletoe, snowy winter landscapes, country homes, evergreen branches, wreaths and decorative holiday typography.
Several cards have especially attractive embossed or raised designs, and some incorporate metallic/gold-toned detailing. The artwork ranges from colorful winter scenes to more subdued Edwardian-era floral and botanical designs.
Many of the postcards were actually mailed and retain their original handwritten Christmas greetings, addresses, vintage postage stamps and postmarks. I can see dates/postmarks from approximately 1907–1914 on some examples. Others appear unused or have handwritten greetings without postage.
The lot includes cards from different publishers/series, including examples marked United Art Publishing Co., New York City, Diamond Series, and numbered designs.
These are authentic vintage pieces and show normal signs of their age, including varying degrees of toning, discoloration, edge/corner wear, writing, postal markings and occasional surface wear. Please see photos for the individual condition of each postcard.
A wonderful collection for antique postcard collectors, Christmas collectors, paper ephemera, junk journals, scrapbooking, collage, altered books, holiday displays or vintage Christmas décor.
