Offered here is an antique Austrian metal (likely spelter - zinc alloy) fountain pen desk set / inkstand, featuring a classic hunting scene with stag and hound figures rendered in sculptural relief. The piece is marked “AUSTRIA” on the gilt-colored underside base, consistent with early 20th-century Continental desk accessories.
This set includes the inkwell housing and pen rest base, with a white porcelain inkwell insert (insert shows a stable hairline crack, visible in photos).
⚠️ Condition Note – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:This piece is BROKEN and offered strictly AS-IS for restoration or parts.
Known issues include: • Stag figure fully detached from base • All stag legs broken at attachment points • One antler broken • One separate loose metal fragment present (believed to correspond to a leg) • Inkwell porcelain insert has a stable crack • No attempt has been made to reattach or repair components • It is unknown whether all original fragments are present
This item was acquired from an estate/sale group of shipping-damaged pieces, and is priced accordingly. Ideal for a metal restorer, conservator, prop artist, or antique desk accessory collector seeking a repair project or period parts.
