The set contains spherical convex, spherical concave, cylindrical convex and cylindrical concave lenses, along with additional specialty lenses and an adjustable metal trial frame.The original manufacturer’s plaque inside reads:“Manufactured by American Optical Company – Southbridge, Mass. U.S.A.”The fitted case has a leather-textured exterior, wood trim and burgundy velvet-lined interior. The adjustable antique trial frame is particularly attractive and makes this a fantastic display piece for an optometrist’s office, medical collection, museum-style display or collection of early scientific instruments.Condition: Very good antique condition overall with age-appropriate wear. The case shows exterior wear, scuffs and small areas of finish loss. Interior velvet shows normal age and use. Lenses and metal components show varying degrees of age-related wear/tarnish.
