A beautiful and highly detailed antique Meissen porcelain figure of a young flower seller / flower gatherer, approximately 18.5 cm (7.3 inches) tall.
This exceptionally decorative figure depicts an elegantly dressed young woman wearing a wide-brimmed hat, turquoise fitted bodice, finely patterned skirt and apron. She carries a basket filled with individually modeled flowers and holds a curved sickle in her right hand.
Beside her is a finely decorated porcelain urn topped with additional applied flowers. The figure stands upon an elaborate circular base decorated with gilt Greek-key ornamentation.
The exceptional attention to the costume, individually applied flowers, painted floral decoration and extensive gilt highlights makes this a particularly attractive example of Meissen figural porcelain.
The underside bears the underglaze blue Meissen crossed swords mark. No cancellation/slash lines through the crossed swords are visible.
