A unique language, special symbols, and rituals: Freemasonry continues to exert a certain fascination. The Bielefeld Freemasons' Lodge "Freiherr vom Stein" was founded on March 22, 1924. The so-called "Lighting In," which also marks the ritual establishment of a lodge according to the rules of Freemasonry, took place on June 22, 1924. The reason for the lodge's founding was the increasing membership of the Freemasons' Lodge "Armin zur deutschen Treue," which had existed in Bielefeld since 1844: With over 220 members, personal interaction was no longer possible in the "Armin" Lodge; it had become too large. Consequently, 48 members joined together to found a second lodge in Bielefeld.AUTHENTIC ORDER - from a private collection.
