Antique 1920s Pyralin Mayflower celluloid dresser/vanity set in a beautiful pearl-on-amber colorway.
This striking Art Deco-era set features creamy pearlescent panels over translucent amber celluloid. One piece is clearly marked “Pyralin Mayflower,” identifying the pattern/material.
Set includes the large molded vanity tray, two lidded dresser containers, nail buffer and two tall hinged accessory/manicure cases as shown. The pearlescent surfaces have a wonderful luminous, mother-of-pearl appearance, while the reverse sides reveal the rich translucent amber Pyralin.
Condition: Very good antique condition overall with age-appropriate surface scratches, scuffs and wear. The tray has scattered discoloration/staining, the manicure implement has cracks on the reverse side however it presents beautifully from the front, and the pieces show normal signs of use and age. Please review photographs closely as they are part of the condition description. No attempt has been made to aggressively polish or restore the celluloid.
A beautiful and increasingly difficult-to-find matching Pyralin Mayflower dresser set, ideal for an Art Deco, early plastics, celluloid or antique vanity collection.
