Original antique Christmas postcard featuring a charming illustration of a young girl in a pink dress holding a lit candle while placing a Christmas wreath in a window. The card includes the greeting “Merry Christmas” along with a festive holiday verse:
“I part my casement curtains
And place my candle there
To flash a Christmas Message
Across the frosty air.”
The reverse is an unused divided-back postcard marked “Made in U.S.A.” with Series 656 E. This postcard captures the nostalgic tradition of displaying a candle in the window during the Christmas season and is an attractive addition to collections of antique holiday postcards and early American ephemera.
Condition is good antique condition with age-related toning, scattered foxing and discoloration, a few moisture stains, light edge and corner wear, and general handling wear consistent with age. The card remains structurally sound with an appealing display image.
