Antique 1890s Cabinet Card Woman J.F. Suddard Photographer Fall River MA Description
Antique circa 1890s cabinet card portrait featuring a woman posed in fashionable late-Victorian clothing. She wears a high-necked gathered blouse or dress with prominent layered/ruffled shoulders, a small decorative brooch or pin at the neckline, and a small earring.
The cabinet card has an especially attractive photographer\'s imprint along the lower mount:

A documented cabinet card from the J. F. Suddard studio has been dated circa 1890–1895, so an 1890s date is a reasonable estimate for this example.
The card measures approximately 6-1/2\" x 4-1/4\", a standard cabinet-card format. The reverse is blank except for a small area of old paper/adhesive residue near the lower corner.
A nice addition to a collection of Victorian photography, cabinet cards, Massachusetts photographs, Fall River history, antique women\'s portraits, or identified 19th-century photographers.

The photograph displays very nicely, with good facial detail and a soft vignetted portrait. There is age-related toning, scattered spotting/foxing and light surface/edge wear consistent with an original photograph more than a century old. Please refer to the photographs for the best assessment of condition.
