Original antique Victorian cabinet card photograph featuring a formal portrait of an unidentified gentleman with a mustache, dressed in period attire.
The photograph was produced by Theo. Eudemo, photographer, 120, 122 & 124 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. The reverse features an elaborate gold-tone studio advertisement displaying several photographic awards, including awards dated 1887. Based on the studio information and portrait style, this photograph likely dates to the late 1880s–1890s.
Original photograph mounted on heavy cardstock with an ornate photographer’s backmark.
Condition: Antique condition with visible age and handling wear. There is notable paper/image loss and wear along the upper edge and upper-right area, along with corner/edge wear, surface marks and age-related discoloration. The portrait itself remains clear. The decorative studio back is well preserved overall. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the condition description.
A nice piece of Cleveland, Ohio photographic history and an interesting addition to a collection of Victorian cabinet cards, antique photography, genealogy or Ohio ephemera.
