Format: Approximately sixth plate, 2¼ × 3½ inches, probably trimmed somewhat narrower than the standard formatSubject: Four unidentified women, two seated and two standing, elaborate studio group portrait with hats and parasols/umbrellasApproximate period: Likely 1880s–1890s, based on the fitted dresses, decorative hats, hairstyles, and overall studio presentationCondition: Good overall. The four faces remain quite clear and there is excellent detail in the clothing, hats, umbrellas, furniture, and painted backdrop. There are numerous fine surface scratches visible when the plate catches the light, plus some localized image loss/oxidation near the lower-left edge. The reverse shows oxidation and an old collection/inventory marking but no apparent identification.
