For sale is a superb plate made in China in the late 17th to early 18th century - 1662 until 1722. I would say closer to the end of this period but it is still a really nice early example! In Asian porcelain dating it is Jingdezhen , Qing dynasty (1644 - 1911), Kangxi period (1662 - 1722). The dish is hand painted with a famille verte design that looks amazing. There are two sets of of double lines in black along the edge of the well, a lotus blossom design in color with cartouches of alternating Koi fish and shrimp designs. Really a fun rim design. There is a large, polychrome central design of a bird sitting in a tree with a flowering tree behind it and some flowers to the left. Light brown trim to the very edge of the plate. There is even a polychrome design to the underside rim including a hatch line design and some flowers plus a double blue ring trim near the foot ring. A truly superb and early example that is in great condition. It does have a small under side rim chip as shown, some light spots to the light brown trim though I think they are from when it was made and a touch of stacking wear to the scene mainly the blossoms under the bird. The gilding of the flowers is worn as well which is to be expected but it is as nice as they come and displays superbly. Some manufacturing flaws in the form of tiny divots and black spots normal to these early examples. The piece is not marked underneath which is common on Chinese porcelain from this period but it does have a double blue line ring to the center underneath. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and has a diameter of 9.25 inches so a nice size. Porzellan Teller
