An attractive late 19th- to early 20th-century desk accessory featuring a cast metal hand-form clip mounted on a pedestal base inset with segmented mother-of-pearl and bordered with decorative beading.The spring-loaded hand opens to hold letters, calling cards, notes, place cards or other papers and retains a strong, fully functional mechanism. The metal has developed a pleasing dark patina consistent with its age.Dimensions: Approximately 4 1/2 in. high; base 2 in. diameter.Condition: Very good antique condition with expected age-related wear and patina.
