This 19th century Senufo tribal bird carving from the Ivory Coast is a stunning piece of African folk art. Standing at 37 inches tall, this intricate sculpture is crafted from a combination of wood and metal, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of the Senufo people. The detailed carving and unique design make this piece a prized collectible for those interested in African cultures and ethnicities.
In excellent condition for its age!!!
Crack by head seen in pic.
There was a repair done at base wood crack in back, see pics for condition
Statue stands solid no movement at all.
My advice is to attach to an anti tip strap before displaying.
Hand made of metal, wood and hair.
Very rare piece.. which most of them at this age is all wood or has wood and metal and hair on wings only.
This should be in a museum.
I have only seen 2 similar to this one in an expensive motel and one in a museum.
My great grandfather traveled Africa Ivory Coast along time age and purchased this item and several pieces of old African artifacts from an sale and had them sent back to the USA.
I have several masks and other pieces I will be listing soon!! Thanks for looking!!
