The cards feature artwork by R. Crumb, with illustrated portraits of influential blues musicians on the fronts and biographical information on the backs.
This is the 1992 revised edition published by Yazoo Records and Eclipse Enterprises. It is not the 1980 first edition.
Included musicians include Blind Blake, Charley Patton, Son House, Mississippi John Hurt, Memphis Minnie, Skip James, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Sleepy John Estes, Blind Willie McTell, and many others.
All 36 cards are present and shown in the photographs. The cards remain clean and colorful overall. The original box shows visible edge, corner, and surface wear from age and storage.
