DESCRIPTION
OEM 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle/Nova/El Camino/Malibu SS 396 325HP (L35) 4 Speed Air Cleaner. This assembly has been refinished in the correct semi-gloss black finish to present a period correct image. The single snorkel with round end is in good condition and correct for the one year 4 speed cars. The base is excellent and features a GM licensed reproduction Air Cleaner Service Decal (CT=1969). Note that the snorkel is canted downward and is angled towards the corner of the passenger side fender (69 specific). There is a minor impression on the bottom of the snorkel - out of sight once installed, but mentioned for clarity. As a nice finishing touch, an original date stamp has been added for for further authenticity.
An original low profile dimpled lid enhances the classic musclecar appearance replete with seal to ensure correct sealing. To complete the package, a new heavy duty air filter, new breather filter, and period correct wing nut are included. There are minor anamolies on the lid - mostly not visible once the decals are installed. To add further distinction, GM licensed 396 Cross Flags and Turbo-Jet 325HP decals are included (loosely installed - permanent installation to be made by the buyer as required) and complement the overall assembly.
This assembly presents well and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a rare and genuine GM part!

APPLICATIONS
This assembly is correct for the following 1969 396 4 Speed models with closed element assemblies:
CHEVROLET
Chevelle SS/Nova SS/Impala SS
*This will also fit 69 automatic equipped models as well, but does not come with the ThermAC/Pre-heater components. It will look the part and assist in creating the image of original, especially considering the cost of finding the original pre-heater stove/chimney/hose connections. It differs from the 68 models by snorkel orientation (perpendicular to the passenger fender).
FITMENT
The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel carburetors (Quadrajet) with a 5 1/8\" diameter flange, as well as some aftermarket models (i.e. Holley, Edelbrock, Demon, etc..) with the same flange size. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to offerding to ensure fitment is correct. Return requests for non-fitment will not be honored.
