Original double-sided 1938 family photo album page containing 9 original vintage black-and-white photographs, with the standout subject being the family\'s new 1938 Oldsmobile.
One side contains 7 photographs, several providing excellent period views of the Oldsmobile from different angles. The car is photographed from the front, side and three-quarter views, with additional images showing family members posing with the automobile. The original handwritten caption on the page identifies it as their “new 1938 Oldsmobile.” This side also includes a photograph of a large period building.
The reverse contains 2 additional original photographs. One shows a woman identified in the handwritten caption as “Mother” in Deadwood in 1938. The other is a wonderful family photograph showing a woman and young child outdoors with two dogs.
Also mounted on the reverse is an original May 10, 1938 recital program from Deadwood High School Auditorium in Deadwood, South Dakota, presented by Erciel M. Mathieu and her pupils. The program lists numerous local performers and their musical selections, adding an interesting piece of identifiable Deadwood history to the page.
9 original vintage photographs total, plus the original 1938 Deadwood recital program.
The photographs appear consistent with genuine period photographic prints rather than modern reproductions. The smaller snapshot-size photographs are period-style prints commonly found in family albums of this era.
