1914 WWI Bordeaux France Hotel Terminus Letter Soldiers Travel Paris Neuilly War
World War I era handwritten letter written from Hotel Terminus & Buffet, Gare de Bordeaux Saint-Jean, France, discussing wartime travel conditions. The writer notes that soldiers are “legion” in Bordeaux but that the city feels removed from the action, and states plans to continue on to Paris and Neuilly. Interesting early WWI observational travel correspondence on attractive French railway hotel letterhead.
Nice WWI era French hotel letter measuring about 8.5\" x 5.5\", one sheet folded to make 4 pages. Item has some age toning and light edge wear. Good condition.

food to its fullest extent before!
Tomorrow we go on to Paris.
We have been told not to look for gaiety to any degree. Here there is plenty in comparison, they say. But Bordeaux is farther away from action & doesn\'t feel it so much. We shall leave a town which above all impresses you with its grandeur, to see something entirely new! Here are the soldiers, & they are legion, but there we shall see the difference.
I\'ll try to write soon from Neuilly, but of course I don\'t know what my time will go for.
Send this to be copied if you like.
There’s not a great deal in it, but people may like to see it.
Love,
Osgood
