“This series is one of the most complex and confusingnovelty sets that Kinney produced. It consists of six typesnone of which havecaptions-that differ significantly in size and design. Type 1 has 25 circular, unbordered cards that are printed on thick paper and feature unnamed women.Type 2, a 50-card set on thin paper, shows unnamed women on bordered, circularcards. The circular cards of Types 1 and 2 are approximately 1% inches (41mm)in diameter. Types 3, 4, and 5 share many of the same subjects. Type 3 consistsof 75 die-cuts of different sizes, mostly showing portraits of women withvarious items, such as a harp, banjo, or looking glass. There were apparentythree different printings of the Type 3 cards; 50 of this group can be foundinscribed with \"50 styles\" and the other 25 with \"25styles,\" and all 75 have been seen inscribed with \"75 styles.\"The 50 cards of Type 4 are identical to the subjects in Type 3, but the objectsare embossed. Type 5 is a regular tobacco card with a woman\'s portrait on thefront. The Type 4 and Type 5 cards carry the same designs as found on 50 of theType 3 cards. The egg-shaped Type 6 cards also show a woman\'s portrait. Thesubjects are the same as the oval portions of the cards in the Duke N120Miniature Novelties series (WTI# D76-30). but are somewhat tougher to find.Five subjects of this typе have been reported. All of the cards have ads forKinney on the back, and Types 3 through 6 describe themselves as novelties.Visual checklists appear on pp. 164-166 of WTI Vol. II.”
