Absolutely. Here’s the updated ResaleOS description with the cleaning/polishing statement incorporated and the condition tightened up:
Description:
Vintage 1881 Rogers by Oneida Ltd. “Plantation” silverplate flatware set, a richly detailed floral pattern introduced in 1948. Plantation features dimensional roses, flowers, scrolling foliage and graceful fluted handles, giving the pattern an elegant romantic look characteristic of mid-century traditional tableware.
This 40-piece near-complete service for eight includes 8 dinner knives, 8 dinner forks, 8 salad forks, 8 oval soup spoons, 7 teaspoons and 1 sugar spoon.
The set is presented in its original fitted wooden storage chest, measuring approximately 17" W x 11" D x 4" H. The distinctive chest features a green painted exterior, vivid turquoise fitted interior, clear Lucite-style handle and raised feet. Also included are the original 1881 Rogers “Beauty Secrets” maintenance booklet and Plantation pattern identification card, wonderful period additions that help document and complete the presentation.
Condition: Good to very good vintage condition with normal surface scratches, tarnish and signs of use consistent with age. One dinner knife has a loose handle. The set contains 7 teaspoons rather than 8. The original storage chest shows age-related exterior wear, including paint loss, scuffs and exposed wood along some edges and corners, as shown in the photographs. The turquoise interior remains bright and attractive with expected age-related wear. Silverplate has not been professionally polished and may benefit from additional cleaning/polishing to the buyer’s preference. Please review all photographs as they are an important part of the condition description.
