Lot of three original items, papers of Andrew Knight Leavens family estate (1819, b. Killingly, d. 1894 Putnam, CT) who married Lois Holmes Torrey, 1839.
There are 2 letters and one envelope. 1854 is date of one letter, other is undated - Two handwritten letters to Lois, one from cousin Helen on small notepaper, plus Ellen. 4pp each, one w/ cover. Single sheets of off-white paper folded to make 4 pages each. Brown ink.
Her cousin talks of fashion, lace, black being the fashionable color, other personal letter, signed Ellen. Helen\'s letter talks about the days of their innocence, their hearts where made to bleed, brother edgar surveying near boston, aunt ?? not been well since the winter, she feels c\'s death very much, etc.
