Thisis a vintage Otagiri stoneware coffee mug featuring a mottled cobaltglaze with brown trim and hand-painted white seagulls soaring aroundthe side. Mugs like this were hand-crafted, hand-painted, andproduced in Japan from the 1960s to the 1980s by the OtagiriMercantile Company (OMC). During this era, high-quality, hand-paintedceramics were imported from Japan to sell in high-end gift shops anddepartment stores across the United States. This "The Sea"series is recognizable for its distinct, textured, and slightlyraised graphics, made from durable stoneware and individuallyhand-glazed. Because of this the glazing will feature slightvariations. CONDITION: Nice vintage condition - no chips, cracks,breaks, or repairs.
