Title: Vintage Northwest Coast Style Hand-Carved Wooden Hawk Effigy Feast Bowl
Overview
Up for sale is a beautiful, hand-carved wooden ceremonial-style feast bowl featuring classic Pacific Northwest Coast formline motifs. The exterior of the vessel is deeply sculpted with symmetrical hawk crest features, including stylized eye ovoids and wing elements. The upper rim is set with genuine pearlescent opercula shell ring inlays.
History & Provenance
This piece was acquired from an estate. It retains a vintage handwritten paper collector/dealer tag taped to the flat base that reads:
• \"Hawk Effigy Feast Bowl, Tlingit Indian, N.W. Coast, Tatitlek Alaska, Circa 1900.\"
Please note that the piece is unsigned and does not come with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). We are listing this piece as an excellent vintage homage to traditional Tlingit art styles, as we cannot independently verify the exact age or tribal origin.

Condition Report
Very good vintage condition overall with an excellent, stable wood patina. There is exactly one missing opercula shell inlay near the bow, also missing part of the shell as shown in another picture , leaving a shallow open socket showing the original dark reddish bedding adhesive. The bottom paper label is split cleanly down the center over a tight, stable original construction seam line. There are no structural wood cracks, chips, or oily food residues.
Please review all macro close-up photos carefully to evaluate the condition and hand-tooling characteristics for yourself before purchasing. Ships securely packaged
