1. Montblanc is known for its fountain pens, and Montblanc is known for its Meisterstück fountain pens, which are overwhelmingly popular for their black bodies with a white star on the cap top. Among the Meisterstück fountain pens, the 146 (now known as the Le Grand), which has a built-in piston mechanism along with the 149, is a popular fountain pen because of its easy-to-handle size and reliability.
2. The elliptical shape of the pen, which gently narrows from the center to both ends, and the jet-black body have a charm that makes it hard to let go of as you use it. The black body and the long oval shape, which gently narrows at the center and at both ends, have an appeal that you will never get tired of and that you will never want to part with the more you use it.
3. The 14K all-gold nib is said to be a masterpiece, and the ebonite core is said to have good ink flow.
