🇱🇻 Latvia WWI Independence 10th Anniversary Medal 1918–1928 Original

This is an original Latvian 10th Anniversary of Independence Medal, issued in 1928 to commemorate Latvia’s declaration of independence in 1918 following World War I. The reverse inscription reads “PAR LATVIJU 1918–1928” (“For Latvia”), a patriotic dedication honoring those who served and supported the Latvian War of Independence.

The obverse features a determined Soldier advancing forward, symbolizing national defense and sacrifice during the struggle for independence. This example retains its original ribbon section, though no longer attached, which is commonly encountered on legitimately worn pieces from this period.

These medals were awarded to qualifying veterans and participants and remain an important interwar Baltic decoration. Authentic examples are increasingly scarce, particularly with any surviving ribbon material.

A solid, historically significant piece for collectors of Latvian, Baltic, or WWI-era independence medals.
