Here we have about the last NOS 289 block left on the planet.Yep, that\'s right an NOS 289 block, never been run or used, just stored for over 50 years. Until recently used blocks worked ok, but these days 50 years of corrosion have weakened & thinned the original blocks to the point where thecylinders crack or shatter with as little as .030\" overbore, you can justabout forget .040\" or more, unless you don\'t mind sleeve(s). So here you go, an NOSnever run or had water in it 289 block. The only down side was it was stored poorly, necessitating a clean up bore to justunder .020\" leaving you to finish for .020\" or more over bore. Check the pics you will see ZERO corrosion in water jackets, this block could easily go to .040\" or possibly .060\" if need be. The original cam bearings perfectly preserved the cam journals, the lifter bores are fine as are the main bearing journals & all machined mating surfaces. This is a 5 boltbell housingblock, numbers correct for your 1964 & early 1965 Mustang, Comet, Fairlane, Cyclone, Falcon, Meteor & Galaxie. This block does have the correct engineering number for a 289K HIPO, if you have a worn out orbroken 289K block you could transfer your HIPO caps to this block & after an align bore you would have a correct 289K block correct for your Tiger, Cobra, Mustang, Fairlane, Comet & Cyclone. For you purists please note I have also included a complete set of 6 ASSEMBLY line original freeze plugs with the MP inside of a diamond logo.
