Antique 19th/early 20th century Tuareg takouba sword and scabbard. Typical Sahel region takouba with Solingen import blade bearing ubiquitous three fullers and half moon marks. Period sharpened blade has uniform patina and pitting near tip. Leather-covered crossguard has a bit of movement but blade is firm in hilt. Brass pommel cap. Scabbard has ruptured at chape and point of sword is visible when sheathed. Sword seats very securely in scabbard. Sword weighs 1 lb 11 ozs and blade is 30.5" long and 37.5" overall.
