289 Cobra Powered By Fordname plate from Shelby American .This name plate is something that ShelbyAmerican used on their 289 Cobras for personal identification when a customertook delivery of a 289 Cobra. The plate was engraved with the serial number ofthe car and the name of the new owner then applied to the dashboard of the car.I believe these were used primarily on 289 Cobras since it has the Venice ,Cal. Address. This plate is a re-issue that was made over 40 years ago by theoriginal Cobra owners club before SAAC. One picture is with the plastic on the face and one is with it off.I do not think these were everreproduced and I only have a few of these left . When they are gone there willbe no more.
