The Mustang SVO\'s turbo-charged engine employs state-of-the-art intercooling technology to help make it the most powerful four-cylinder engine in an American-made production car. Its 2.3 liters put out 175 horsepower at 4400 RPM based on SAE standard J1349.
The combination of this engine and the 5-speed manual transmission with Hurst® shift linkage gives the Mustang SVO excellent acceleration.
The Mustang SVO\'s suspension lives up to the performance standards set by its powertrain. The four-bar link rear Quadra-Shock suspension uses a pair of longitudinally mounted damper struts to resist the rear axle\'s fore-aft movement and torsional roll, thus enhancing stability.
Up front, the Koni® struts are adjustable for a wide range of road handling duties: city, cross country, GT, and competition. The Goodyear P225/50VR-16 low-profile, high-performance radials provide superb adhesion. And, on dry pavement the four-wheel disc brakes are capable of stopping the SVO from 60 to 0 mph in just 158 feet under test conditions. It’s performance like this that puts Mustang SVO at the forefront of the sports GT class.
