This is a very hard to find standard transmission aluminum bellhousing for a Lincoln Y-Block engine.
This bellhousing was made by Cragar and I believe they were the only aftermarket company that ever made a standard transmission bellhousing for the Lincoln Y-Block.
This one is in great shape.
There are no cracks or weld repairs.
All of the threaded holes look very good with the exception of 2 of the starter bolt holes. It looks like the starter became loose over time and it caused some damage to the threads. 2 of the holes have weak threads and one of those holes looks a little elongated. The third hole has pretty good threads. You may want to put longer bolts in and nut them from the back side to make sure they hold tight.
The outside and inside appearance of the bellhousing is very good. I don't see any dents or deep gouges. There is two spots were I believe the casting was not as clean (see last 2 pictures).
The part number inside is 601.
Hurst was one of the best aftermarket Hot-Rod designers of the era and this part is designed to be a bolt-on with no modifications to make it fit.
It has a weight of just under 15 lbs.
