Since 1897 Crouse Hinds has been the finest industrial light manufacturer in the world. Their work is, and always has been superior in every respect. They are still in business today, (Cooper Industries). Since 1914, Line Material has been manufacturing streetlights for use all over the world.They shield bulbs from rough weather over intersections, in subways, at train station platforms, parks and many other places all over the world.

Now, just imagine if Crouse Hinds and Line Material Streetlights somehow got together and made a light using some of their combined strengths, a light that could be utilized in kitchens, game rooms, restaurants, horse barns, diners or any number of locations where beauty, functionalityand uniquenessis of the highest desire. Well...sadly, they never did.

Fast forward 100 years!!! I was able to accumulatea number of Line Material shades and an equal number ofCrouse Hinds fitters, to be paired together from now on. With only minor alteration, they married very nicely, I fell in love with them immediately! (I live for this stuff). These lights are like no others and I only had seven at the time of listing, just two left. I\'m going to keep one for my family, the rest are available for adoption. I have four left. The shade pictured has the most chips, the other three have fewer, if any, chips.

The shades measure 20 inches in diameter. From the bottom of the shade to the top of the fitter measure only about 7 inches, including the 12\" pipe and the Appleton swivel hanger, 18 inches. Other lengths are available, 3\", 6\" and 8\" are always in stock. Longer length are possibly available upon request. (Big box stores generally stock the same pipe in MUCH longer lengths, at a very reasonable price).

The Appleton swivel hanger helps protect the light from damage and the bulb from vibration. Bulbs were far more fragile 80 years ago.

The shades are in excellentcondition with very little in the way of chips, just a chip or two on the bottom and several on top, all shown. Both top and shade still cling to their original factory label.

The sockets are brand new and UL Listed, complete with a ground wire, Pass Your Inspections!!. They use a standard household bulb and would do well with an LED, Edison bulb or anything else the new caretaker would desire.
